Theme: Sustainably Closing the Gender Gap in the Startup & Investment Ecosystem
“Africa: The Big Deal” reported that in 2021, female founders raised only 1.4% of the total funding in Nigeria, while male founders received 87.5%. The remaining 21% went to gender-diverse teams.
This highlights the urgent need to advocate for female founders and support initiatives that bridge the gender gap in the startup ecosystem.
I am honoured to join Ibilola Kasunmu, Ifedolapo Runs-ewe, Oyin Solebo, and Gbeke Osinowo on the Lagos Innovates (by LSETF) stage tomorrow to discuss “Closing the Gender Gap in the Startup Ecosystem.” Our discussion will focus on strategies to empower female entrepreneurs and create a more inclusive funding landscape.
If you will be there, let’s connect in person.
